aSports Massage Certification Program - 37 CE
hours This program consists of the 5 CE hour SM Workshop,
the 16 CE hour SM Seminar I and the 16 CE hour Clinical
SM Seminar I, all followed by a written exam and a series of
practical exams. Participants will have the
opportunity to work at a minimum of one or two sporting

Sports Massage Therapy - 2 CE hours This course explains the
benefits, intent, cautions and timing of sports massage
treatments, describes and demonstrates commonly used sports
massage techniques, provides a foundation for an event sports
massage routine, and explains the steps necessary to set up an
on-site sports massage event. This course is suitable for
presentation to a large group of massage therapists or

a Sports Massage
Therapy Seminar I - 16 CE hours You
will perform pre and/or post event sports massage routines on
competitive athletes at local sporting events. You will be videotaped
during the events and will receive constructive review when you
return to the classroom.
You will learn and demonstrate Active Isolated and PNF
stretching routines.
You will learn about the injury response cycle, the acute
inflammatory response and other physiological aspects of athletic

a Clinical Sports
Massage Seminar I - 16 CE hours In
this Seminar, you will learn and demonstrate myofascial therapy
techniques that are used by the instructor on professional and
amateur athletes. You
will learn a full body myofascial routine that can be completed in
45 minutes. You will
also learn about three or four common physician-diagnosed,
sports-related injuries, such as, iliotibial band syndrome,
plantar fasciitis, rotator cuff issues, etc., and will learn and
demonstrate specific clinical sports massage routines for treating
these injuries. Bring
table, linens, Palmer’s Cocoa Butter, and you must wear (or bring)
loose-fitting shorts and T-shirts (NO JEANS). Women will be more
comfortable if they wear a sports bra. Men will be more
comfortable without excessively long body hair. Prerequisite: SMT

a Introduction to Kinesio Taping – 2-6 CE
hours Since the development by
Dr. Kenzo Kase nearly 25 years ago in
Japan, Kinesio Taping has become the standard for
therapeutic taping not only in the
U.S., but in the international medical
practitioner world as well.
This method of taping uses a uniquely designed and patented
tape for treatment of muscular disorders and lymphedema
reduction. Since the
introduction of Kinesio Taping into the U.S., Kinesio currently
has 16,000 website-registered medical practitioners from PT’s,
OT’s, DC’s, ATC’s, MD’s and recently LMT’s, that have recognized
and embraced this effective, safe and easy-to-use modality. The method and tape allow
the individual to wear and receive therapeutic benefits on a
24-hour per day basis.
The tape can be worn for several days per application. The KT Method involves
taping over and around muscles in order to assist and/or to give
muscles support or to help prevent over contraction of
muscles. In this
seminar, you will learn about the basic principles and concepts of
Kinesio Tex Tape and how massage therapy treatments are enhanced
by the use of the KT Method.
